Project Description

Stirling Bluffs Water Treatment Plant Improvements

Northern Division, Water Treatment

Chico, CA

W.M. Lyles was contracted by Del Oro Water Company on a water treatment plant improvement project.

The treatment plant is within what is known as the Stirling Bluffs District of the Del Oro Water Company in Butte County, California and provides potable drinking water to the small community of Stirling City, with a population of approximately 295.

The primary work on the project included a building addition and two new trains of vertical clarifier/filter vessels with associated piping.

The two additional trains will bring the total trains to five, which will increase the rated plant capacity by 2/5, and bring the treatment plant in compliance with CDPH requirements.

Also included with the work was electrical work for the new improvements, as well as a new PLC control system to replace the existing control system.

Amount: $794,533.00

Completion Date: September 2014
