Tertiary Filtration, UV Disinfection & Biosolids Improvements Project
This project’s primary purpose was to expand the City of Galt’s existing wastewater treatment system to include tertiary filtration and ultraviolet disinfection capabilities. When complete, the new facilities will improve the plant’s effluent quality as to allow year-round discharge into Skunk Creek. Major construction items included a Tertiary Filtration Facility, a UV Disinfection Facility, a Biosolids Dewatering Facility, Biosolids Storage and Transfer Facilities, an Operations and Electrical Building, four pump stations, backup power generation, and additional infrastructure.
